Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine was born 1 June 1974. She was born in Ottawa, Canada. Alanis is the feminine form of Alan, her father's first name. Her siblings are Chad (Alanis Twin) and Wade. She first started playing piano and guitar when she was just 21. Alanis recorded a 1986 single called Fate Stay With I (b part: Find The Right Man). Within Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop albums: Alanis (in the year 1991) and The Time Is The Time in 1992. At age 18, she relocated to Toronto and collaborated with various artists and songwriters, however these collaborations did not work. Glen Ballard was the producer/songwriter she decided to go with in 1994. Glen was previously associated with Aretha Frankin Michael Jackson and Barbra Strreisand. After moving to LA her age was 19. Madonna made her debut with "Jagged Little Pill" the song on June 13, 1995. Alanis discovered an autobiographical, extremely personal way to write songs. JLP is the third-highest-seller album ever and was sold over 30 million times around the globe.
